Gear
Musikmesse, Nintendo DS-10
14/Mar/08 Filed in: Blog
Yesterday we took a day trip to the Frankfurt
Musikmesse to talk about some upcoming Flatpack
products.
The show was a bit limp this year, but we were
very pleased to meet the two lovely guys from
AQ Interactive who are developing
the Nintendo DS-10. This Nintendo DS-based synth
studio features emulations of the Korg MS-10
(although dual oscillator so more like the
MS-20), and synth drums, with step sequencers
and real-time stylus control.
As well as getting a demo, we tried to find out if the DS-10 would be available outside of Japan. The answer was simple: "Not decided". Whatever the decision, we've got to get our hands on one of these.

Novation Nocturn

We're enthusiastic NI Kore users, and are in the process of developing some libraries for it right now, but it can only control VST/AU plug-ins.
So we were very excited to see the new Automap 2.0 controller from Novation: Nocturn, which can control built-in Pro Tools plug-ins.
We were even more happy to see how cheap they are, and we've pre-ordered two.
Simon is reviewing the Nocturn for Sound on Sound, so with any luck we might get sent a pre-release version soon.
